Why Punjab Government cancelled Electric bike scheme
Electric bike scheme was announced in April 2024 from the Chief Minister of Punjab to provide 15,000 e-bikes to teachers of the Punjab province. Scheme was consist of three phases, in first phase plan was set 5,000 electric bikes for teachers, after that later 10,000 more e-bikes will provide to teachers.
Why e-bike scheme cancelled?
Reason of cancelling the electric bike scheme in Punjab is theft of bike battery and low electric bike mileage, given by the CM Punjab after meeting.
On this decision of Punjab government medical experts raised questions about the future of eco-friendly transportation in the province.
