Upcoming Hybrid cars in Pakistan: Honda – Suzuki – Kia
In 2024 budget announced in Pakistan, the government increase the sale tax on Hybrid and electric cars from 8.5% to 25%. However economist in Pakistan and car manufacturing companies are sure that this action will be reverse and sale tax will be 8.5%.
In notification number 2(2)/2024-LEX-II by the minister of industries and products there is clause 4 in which manufacturing of Hybrid cars by Honda, Suzuki and Kia is confirmed. As Toyota, Hyundai and Haval already launched the hybrid cars in Pakistan.
Lets discuss which car may be possible in Hybrid version in Pakistan by Suzuki, Honda and Kia.
Suzuki Hybrid car in Pakistan
Suzuki Alto, Suzuki WagonR, and Suzuki Cultus all three cars are very fuel efficient in Pakistan. Suzuki Alto is most sold car in pakistan from past months. Fuel economy is very important factor in Pakistan as fuel prices increase time to time.
Japanese Mild Hybrid Alto cars are already imported from Japan. There is also WagonR hybrid version manufactured in Japan and imported to Pakistan. With very good fuel efficiency by Hybrid Alto and Hybrid WagonR these are popular cars in pakistan, but due to increase Taxes in Pakistan Budget 2024 these cars are expensive to import from Japan.
Upcoming Suzuki Hybrid cars in Pakistan
There is possibilities of Alto ENE Charge (mild-hybrid) car and Suzuki WagonR Hybrid car manufactured in Pakistan, it is just a guess. Recently Suzuki Swift price drop and two-tone version of Suzuki Swift introduced in Pakistan. There is also possibilities of Swift Hybrid or Cultus Hybrid cars in Pakistan, because Alto Hybrid and WagonR hybrid are also available.
Honda Hybrid car in Pakistan
Honda has not announced to launched any Hybrid car in Pakistan yet, there is possibility of Honda Civic Hybrid in 2025. But for the 2024 year Honda Vezel hybrid car is possible by Honda company. There is also Japanese hybrid version of Vezel available in Pakistan with 1.5L i-Vtec engine.
Kia Hybrid car in Pakistan
Kia may launched two Hybrid cars in Pakistan this year or coming year, Kia Sportage 5th Generation Hybrid and KIA Sorento Hybrid may be in queue.
Kia hybrids cars are in market internationally like Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid, Kia Sorento Hybrid.
